DAY 2: BEIJING On arrival in Beijing, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the heart of China’s sprawling capital. DAY 3: BEIJING B/L/D After a morning at leisure, explore Tiananmen Square then wander the vast Forbidden Palace. After dinner, an optional Legend of Kung Fu show is available. DAY 4: BEIJING B/L/D Walk around the Summer Palace then travel to the iconic Great Wall of China and Silk Street Market. Later tonight, feast on a traditional Peking duck dinner. DAY 5: BEIJING TO XI’AN B/L/D Your morning tour visits the tranquil Temple of Heaven. In the afternoon, browse the old shops of Liulichang Antique Street and Qianmen Dashilan. After dinner, board your overnight sleeper train to Xi’an.* DAY 6: XI’AN B/L/D On arrival in Xi’an, visit the amazing Terracotta Warriors. Continue on to the UNESCO-listed Wild Goose Pagoda, the Muslim Quarter and the Great Mosque before a Tang Dynasty dance show later tonight. DAY 7: XI’AN TO CHENGDU B/L/D Travel to Xi’an’s City Wall and the Tangbo Art Museum. In the late afternoon, board your high-speed train to Chengdu where you’ll be transferred to your hotel. DAY 8: CHENGDU TO GUIYANG B/L/D Meet Chengdu’s giant pandas on today’s trip to the Panda Breeding Centre. Continue on to People’s Park, then walk along nearby Jinli Ancient Street, transfer to the train station and board your high-speed train to Guiyang. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner. DAY 9: GUIYANG TO KAILI B/L/D Visit Jiaxiu Tower then explore Qingyan Ancient Town. Journey to the city of Kaili for your overnight stay. DAY 10: KAILI B/L/D Uncover China’s diverse ethnic groups as you explore Zhenyuan Ancient Town, home of the Miao people, then visit the temples of Black Dragon Cave and Langde Miao Village. Return to Kaili for the night. DAY 11: KAILI TO GUILIN B/L/D Your cultural experience continues as you explore the Matang Gejia Village. Delve into their rich, unique customs then visit the nearby village of Shiqiao Miao. Board your train to Guilin, arriving in time for dinner. DAY 12: GUILIN B/L/D Marvel at the colourful rice terraces of Longsheng then journey to the Zhuang Minority Village before returning to Guilin for the night. DAY 13: GUILIN TO SHANGHAI B/L/D See China from a new perspective on a boat trip down the Lijiang River. Disembark in Yangshuo and walk around the shops of West Street. This evening, fly to Shanghai for your overnight stay. DAY 14: SHANGHAI B Enjoy a day at leisure in cosmopolitan Shanghai. DAY 15: SHANGHAI TO THE UK B After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK or continue on to your chosen extension.
