EXTEND YOUR TOUR DAY 1: UK TO HANOI Depart London on your scheduled, overnight flight. DAY 2: HANOI L/D On arrival in Hanoi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure before tonight’s water puppet performance. DAY 3: HANOI B/L/D Experience Hanoi’s energy on today’s tour which moves from the Presidential Palace to Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. Later, browse through cultural artefacts at the Museum of Ethnology before exploring the Old Quarter of Hanoi. DAY 4: HANOI TO HALONG BAY B/L/D After breakfast, depart for Halong Bay. Sail past Ba Hang Fishing Village and Dinh Huong Island. Stop at Bo Nau Cave and visit Surprise Cave one of the most beautiful in Halong Bay. Cruise amongst Halong Bay before participating in a cooking demonstration at a nearby restaurant. DAY 5: HALONG BAY TO HANOI BR/D Take part in a Tai Chi session on board. Later, delve into the underground cavern of Thien Canh Son cave during an onshore excursion, before enjoying a brunch buffet on your ship. This afternoon you will disembark and travel back to Hanoi. DAY 6: HANOI TO BEIJING B/L/D After breakfast, enjoy time at leisure before flying into Beijing. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, with time to relax before dinner. DAY 7: BEIJING B/L/D Uncover China’s imperial past on today’s tour which begins by exploring the grounds of the Temple of Heaven and commences at the Forbidden City. Enjoy one of China’s top delicacies as you savour a crisp Peking duck dinner tonight. DAY 8: BEIJING B/L/D Following a stroll around the Summer Palace, continue to the iconic Great Wall which was constructed over 2,000 years ago to guard the Chinese empire against Mongol invaders. In the evening, enjoy an entertaining Chinese acrobatics show. DAY 9: BEIJING TO XI’AN B/L/D Board an early high-speed bullet train to Xi’an and upon arrival set out for the Muslim Quarter. Later this evening, travel back in time as you watch a colourful Tang Dynasty dancing show. DAY 10: XI’AN TO SHANGHAI B/L/D Explore Xi’an’s underground mausoleum of 8,000 Terracotta Warriors. Later, travel through the countryside on an overnight sleeper train to Shanghai. DAY 11: SHANGHAI B/L/D On arrival in Shanghai, take a leisurely stroll along the Bund and walk along Nanjing Road, Shanghai’s premier shopping area. DAY 12: SHANGHAI B/L/D Visit the Yu Garden and French Concession, then take a cruise down the Huangpu River and wander the artistic area of Tianzifang. DAY 13: SHANGHAI TO SAIGON B/L/D After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Saigon (also known as Ho Chi Minh City). DAY 14: SAIGON B/L/D Take a morning tour of the Cu Chi tunnel network and an afternoon tour of the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and lively Ben Thanh Market. DAY 15: SAIGON B/L/D Travel to My Tho for a boat ride down the Mekong River. Journey to Thoi Son islet for a music performance and fruit tasting. Visit a coconut candy workshop and a bee farm then return to Saigon. DAY 16: SAIGON TO THE UK B Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK or continue on to your chosen extension.
