DAY 2: LIMA D On arrival in Lima, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of Lima before returning to your hotel for a welcome dinner. DAY 3: LIMA TO PUERTO MALDONADO B/L/D After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Travel by boat to your lodge arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon, follow a trail to the Caiman Cocha and then witness your first sunset in the Amazon, before dinner at your lodge. DAY 4: PUERTO MALDONADO B/L/D After an early breakfast, embark on a riverboat trip to a tropical forest where you will begin a hike to Sandoval Lake. In the afternoon visit Monkey Island, positioned in the heart of the Madre De Dios River. Conclude the day with dinner back at your lodge. DAY 5: PUERTO MALDONADO B/L/D After breakfast, hike deep into the forest to the Lost Cocha, with a climb to the top of an observation platform to see the area this captivating swamp covers. The afternoon is spent visiting a local family and learning about their plantation. DAY 6: PUERTO MALDONADO TO CUSCO B This morning, travel back to the city centre of Puerto Maldonado before catching your flight to Cusco. On arrival, uncover the city’s past on an afternoon tour. DAY 7: CUSCO B/L Journey by train to Machu Picchu. A full-day tour takes you around the tombs, temples, and palaces of this ancient city. Enjoy lunch in the nearby town of Aguas Calientes and journey home by train. DAY 8: CUSCO TO PUNO B/L Today travel to Puno, with a stop at Andahuayillas. Continue onward to Raqchi, an Inca archaeological park. Explore the towering Temple of Wiracocha, before visiting The Raya. Arrive in Puno in the early evening, with the remainder of the day at leisure. DAY 9: PUNO B/L Today’s highlight is a trip to Lake Titicaca. After lunch, follow 535 stone steps to a fantastic observation point. Later, walk back down to the port and board a boat for a brief visit to the floating reed island of Uros to visit a local family home before returning to Puno. DAY 10: PUNO TO AREQUIPA B/L/D In the morning, travel to the Lagunillas Lagoon, before a visit to the plains of Pampa. Arrive in Arequipa and check into your hotel before dinner. DAY 11: AREQUIPA TO NAZCA B/L/D A scenic 12 to 14-hour drive along the coastline takes you past beaches, arid desert plains and lofty mountain passes as you follow the Pan-American Highway to Nazca for your overnight night stay. DAY 12: NAZCA TO PARACAS B/L Enjoy a bird’s eye view of Nazca Lines on a 25-minute flight over the lines*. Back on land, trace your way to Paracas, with visit to a local winery and pottery studio. Huacachina Lagoon, your next stop, is a palm-fringed oasis nestled in the barren desert region of Peru before your overnight stay in Paracas. DAY 13: PARACAS B Board a shared boat for the morning’s excursion to the Ballestas Islands. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore the area. DAY 14: PARACAS TO LIMA B/D Start your day with a scenic 4-5 hour drive along the Pacific Coastline to Lima, stopping for lunch along the way. Check into your hotel, with the remainder of the day at leisure and then a farewell dinner. DAY 15/16: LIMA TO THE UK B After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK via Bogotá, or continue on to your chosen extension.
