Day 1: UK to Manila Depart the UK on your scheduled, overnight flight. Day 2: Manila D On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, experience Ayala Avenue and the famous Ayala Triangle, a junction that connects the city’s three main streets. Proceed to the Ayala Museum and browse its exquisite collection of pre-colonial gold treasures, ethnological and archaeological artefacts. Day 4: Manila to Banaue B/L/D Begin today’s leisurely drive towards Banaue, past the flat and fertile landscape of Luzon. En route, visit Bacolor, a well-preserved town hit by the lava flows of Mount Pinatubo’s 1991 eruption. Witness the haunting San Guillermo Church, which still stands half-buried in lava. Continue your journey, encountering townsfolk selling their wares out of native bamboo and nipa palm huts, lining the streets of Nueva Ecija. Cross the southern gateway of Cagayan Valley, zigzagging across the Caraballo Mountains and through Dalton Pass, a 920m high mountain pass named after the American General James Dalton. Take in breathtaking views of Sierra Madre and Caraballo Mountains, before beginning the 1300m climb to Banaue, stopping halfway in Lagawe. This evening, enjoy a Ifugao folklore show. Day 5: Banaue B/L/D Board a local Jeepney to explore Banaue’s stunning scenery and fascinating culture. By the roadside near the local church, a 10-story house built on the mountain slopes shows the Ifugaos’ engineering skills and adaptability to their surroundings. Catch a glimpse of the magnificent terraces from the Barangay Viewpoint, where a sign declares the Banaue Rice Terraces a UNESCO World Heritage Area. Hike down for lunch and mingle freely with the villagers. Visit the village of Batad with amphitheatre- like terraces built amid a majestic mountain valley. Return to Banaue to explore the market.
