Marvel at the towering mountain peaks covered in centuries old glacial ice, the vibrant wildflower-filled meadows, and mirror-like lakes. Stop at some of the park’s most iconic landmarks, such as the awe- inspiring Maligne Canyon and the three stunning lakes of Patricia, Pyramid, and Maligne. Later in the evening, visit the world’s largest accessible dark sky preserve located in Jasper National Park. Immerse yourself in the mysteries of the universe with a guided tour and presentation at the renowned Jasper Planetarium and explore the largest, most powerful telescopes in the Rockies. Day 6: The Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops B/L This morning, board the famous “Rocky Mountaineer” train to experience the fascinating history of the transcontinental railway, complete with awe- inspiring architecture and tales of unwavering human determination. The “Journey Through the Clouds” route towards Vancouver, winds through charming towns and villages that flourished alongside and supported the construction of this vital railway. Indulge in the exceptional service that the Rocky Mountaineer is renowned for and gaze at the iconic landmarks, architectural marvels, and natural wonders that resound with the essence of Canada’s West. With an overnight stay in Kamloops, arranged by the Rocky Mountaineer, this two-day rail experience ensures that not a moment of this spectacular journey will be missed. Day 7: The Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver B/L Board the Rocky Mountaineer to head west to the Pacific Coast. This unique daylight service offers views of the most spectacular sights in Western Canada. Departing from the arid and picturesque ranch lands of interior British Columbia, traverse the paths of the Thompson and Fraser rivers and arrive at Vancouver, Canada’s Pearl on the Pacific Coast. Day 8: Vancouver Vancouver is a unique blend of cosmopolitan charm and small-town ambiance. Situated in a magnificent setting among the sea, the beaches, the harbour and the steep Coast Mountains, this vibrant metropolis has rapidly evolved from a humble town to a thriving urban centre. Embark on a city tour covering all its highlights, beginning at Stanley Park and its collection of totem poles, continuing to the English Bay, Canada Place, and the Cruise Ship Pier, followed by a visit to Gastown, Granville Island Market Hall, and Chinatown. Next, head to the North Shore of Vancouver by crossing the magnificent Lions Gate Suspension Bridge to arrive at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park where you can walk across the bridge, high above the Capilano River. Finally, spend your afternoon at leisure enjoying Vancouver at your own pace. Day 9: Vancouver to Victoria The day begins with a cruise through the beautiful Gulf Islands, followed by a visit to Butchart Gardens. Ample time will be allocated for browsing through the regal gardens, before continuing to Victoria, British Columbia’s provincial capital. Being a Gold Rush town in the past, its pioneering heritage and traditions are well preserved in museums, art galleries, pioneer homes and great mansions. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Victoria, including highlights such as the Beacon Hill Park, the Empress Hotel, Chinatown, Thunderbird Park and Inner Harbour. Day 10: Victoria Enjoy a full day at leisure in Victoria. Optional excursions, such as a whale watching trip can be arranged at a fee. Day 11: Victoria to the UK Transfer to Tsawwassen in the morning to board a ferry bound for Swartz Bay. Depending on the schedule of your departure flight, you can engage in additional sightseeing in the Vancouver area before transferring to Vancouver International Airport for your return flight back to the UK, or continue to your chosen extension.
