Day 7: Ranohira B/L/D Drive into the foothills of Isalo National Park, Madagsacar’s most popular and dramatic national park. Walk amongst the impressive landscapes, canyons, natural pools, and magical rock erosions. The day will be spent exploring this beautiful environment including a picnic in the Tapia forest. You may see Ring-tailed Lemurs and Sifaka Lemurs, though the scale of the park does make wildlife spotting more difficult. Return to Ranohira for dinner. Day 8: Ranohira to Ifaty B/L/D Continue south to Ifaty on the coast. On the way, stop off to see the Mahafaly tribes tombs with their colourful decorations and amazing carvings. You’ll see the Mozambique Channel long before reaching Tulear, explore the market town and have lunch, before arriving at the beaches of Ifaty. Day 9: Ifaty B/L/D Visit the Reniala Reserve after breakfast. A small private reserve located in the great Baobab Forest of Southwest Madagascar and boasting more than a thousand endemic plant species. Return to your hotel for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure. Day 10: Ifaty to Antananarivo B/L/D Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before transferring to Tulear airport for your flight to Antananarivo. Flight times in Madagascar can vary so you will have free time in either Ifaty or Antananarivo. Day 11: Antananarivo to Andasibe B/L/D Travel east towards Andasibe Village, leaving the highlands by the steep slopes of Mandraka, and travelling through the forest corridor of the eco- region in east Madagascar. Visit a butterfly farm, also home to an incredible number of chameleon and leaf-tailed gecko. Day 12: Andasibe B/L/D Take a tour of the remarkable Analamazaotra National Park. Home to the vanishingly rare Indri, Madagsacar’s largest lemur whose unforgettable wail can be heard ringing through the misty forest throughout the day. You can also see Grey Bamboo Lemurs, Wooly Lemurs, Red-fronted Lemurs, Diademed Sifaka Lemurs, eleven species of tenrec and eight species of chameleon including the impressive Parson’s Chameleon. In the afternoon, visit Vakona private reserve, home to an island full of lemurs and lakes with crocodiles. Day 13: Andasibe to Antananarivo B/L/D Return to Antananarivo and visit Ambohimanga, the Blue Hill.
