Later, enjoy some time at leisure to explore the city. Day 3: New York to Washington DC Today, transfer to Amtrak Station by coach to begin your journey to Washington DC by rail. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the USA’s capital city. Day 4: Washington DC Today is at leisure for you to explore at your own pace. Day 5: Washington DC to Chicago Transfer to Union Station by coach to catch an overnight train to Chicago, along the historic B&O line. Day 6: Chicago D After arriving in Chicago, enjoy a tour of famous landmarks before an evening of live music and dinner. Day 7: Chicago This morning, embark on a cruise showcasing Chicago’s impressive architecture, setting off from the activity filled Navy Pier. The rest of the day and evening are at leisure for you to further explore. Day 8: Chicago to Grand Junction Today, enjoy your morning at leisure, before transferring to Chicago Union Station by coach for your overnight train to Grand Junction. Day 9: Grand Junction Upon arrival at Grand Junction train station, enjoy a short tour before checking into your hotel. Day 10: Grand Junction to Durango, via Silverton Today, make your way along the Million Dollar Highway to Silverton by coach, enjoying the ‘wild west’ scenery. After lunch, head to Durango along the famous Durango and Silverton railroad, travelling past canyons, emerald rivers and desolate wilderness. Day 11: Durango to Flagstaff Depart Durango by coach and head towards Flagstaff, stopping at the red-sand desert region of Monument Valley for a scenic tour of this ancient site famous for its towering sandstone structures. Day 12: Flagstaff Today, travel along Route 66 towards Williams to join the Grand Canyon Railway. The train ride takes you through picturesque terrains, pulled by historic locomotives, until you reach the spectacular Grand Canyon. Return to Flagstaff for an evening at leisure. Day 13: Flagstaff to Las Vegas Continue your journey along Route 66, passing through Seligman, a quirky small town that captures a vibrant slice of Americana. Continue onwards to experience the neon vibrancy of Las Vegas. Day 14: Las Vegas to Los Angeles Depart Las Vegas for Los Angeles. Upon arrival, a fascinating tour commences, taking you to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the iconic Hollywood sign, then onto Beverly Hills. Day 15: Los Angeles to San Francisco Today, travel by coach to Union Station to catch a Coast Starlight train to San Francisco. Upon arrival at Amtrak Station, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Day 16: San Francisco This morning, embark on a coach tour of the San Francisco.
