Day 1: UK to Bangkok Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Bangkok. Day 2: Bangkok D On arrival into Bangkok you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The day will be at leisure to settle in and explore your new surroundings. Day 3: Bangkok B/L Today’s full day city tour takes you through Chinatown to Pak Khlong Talat – the city’s colourful flower market. Visit Wat Pho, home to one of the country’s longest reclining Buddha images, before visiting the Grand Palace, the ceremonial residence of the Kings of Thailand. In the afternoon, board a traditional long-tail boat to navigate Bangkok’s khlongs. Pass the abundance of temples along the river including Wat Arun, which translates to Temple of the Dawn in Vietnamese before returning to your hotel. Day 4: Bangkok to Ayutthaya B/L/D This morning, visit the famous floating market of Damnoen Saduak and observe local traders paddling their fragile boats whilst preparing fragrant dishes within teetering woks. Continue west to Kanchanaburi to visit the war cemetery and nearby Thailand-Burma railway museum. Enjoy lunch at a floating restaurant near the infamous bridge over the River Kwai. Later, transfer to Ayutthaya for dinner. Day 5: Ayutthaya to Sukhothai B/L/D Start the day at Ayutthaya’s UNESCO Historical Park, once capital of the Kingdom of Siam, and a prosperous international trading port. Wander the Summer Palace, then visit the ancient Royal monastery of Wat Yai Chaimongkhol. Departing Ayutthaya, journey through rural Thailand and end your day in Sukhothai. Day 6: Sukhothai to Chiang Mai B/L/D Today, visit the impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sukhothai Historical Park, capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom in the 13th and 14th centuries, where you can leisurely explore the palace and many temples.
