Day 1: UK to Delhi Depart the UK on your overnight flight. Day 2: Delhi L/D After arriving in Delhi, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for lunch and some free time to relax before your welcome evening meal. Day 3: Delhi B/L/D A full day tour of Delhi commences with the historic Old Delhi in the morning - travelling through the narrow streets on a rickshaw, passing vibrant food markets. With a visit to the regal Red Fort before stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. this afternoon is New Delhi – the India Gate, President’s House, Parliament Building, the Birla Temple, the Mahatma Gandhi memorial and the 12th century Qutab Minar. Day 4: Delhi to Agra B/L/D Waking early, board the train to Agra. Marvel at the gigantic pavilions, grand palaces and spectacular courtyards of the vast red sandstone Agra Fort, a colossal walled city. Day 5: Agra to Jaipur B/L/D Enjoy an early morning tour of the iconic Taj Mahal. After breakfast, visit the ancient capital of Akbar, known as the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. Enjoy some time at leisure in the afternoon before proceeding to catch your evening train to Jaipur. Day 6: Jaipur B/L/D Climb to the spectacular Amber Fort by Jeep. Then take in some of Jaipur’s sights, including Hawa Mahal – the Palace of the Winds. After lunch, spend some time at leisure exploring colourful bazaars before dinner at your hotel. Day 7: Jaipur to Jodhpur B/L/D After breakfast, travel by train to Pushkar, a major Hindu pilgrimage site. After touring the city, continue by coach to Jodhpur, arriving in time for dinner. Day 8: Jodhpur B/L/D Begin your full day tour with a visit to the 15th century Mehrangarh Fort Later, visit Jaswanth Thada, with its grandiose white marble memorials. Day 9: Jodhpur to Deogarh B/L/D En route to Deogarh visit the world-famous Ranakpur temple complex. There will be a break for lunch in a local restaurant before continuing your journey, arriving in time for dinner. Day 10: Deogarh to Udaipur B/L/D Begin your day with a trip on Deogarh’s metre-gauge train around the picturesque local area. After lunch, you’ll continue on to Udaipur. Day 11: Udaipur B/L/D Magical Udaipur is a city of romance with beautiful lakes and fantastical palaces. This morning you will visit the huge City Palace. Day 12: Udaipur to Ahmedabad B/L/D Visit Sabarmati Ashram, the former home of Mahatma Gandhi as well as the Science City, Swaminarayan Temple and Sidi Saiyyed Mosque. Day 13: Ahmedabad to Mumbai B/L/D Board the double decker express train to Mumbai arriving in the afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure, before dinner with your group. Day 14: Mumbai B/L/D Enjoy an early morning full day tour of Mumbai before boarding a motorboat to Elephanta Island. Back to the mainland for sightseeing before a drive around Marine Drive, past Chowpatty beach, visit Mani Bhavan and see how the Dhobi Ghat works.
