Day 1: UK to Bangkok Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Bangkok. Day 2: Bangkok D On arrival into Bangkok you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The day will be at leisure to settle in and explore your new surroundings. In the afternoon board a traditional long-tail boat to navigate Bangkok’s khlongs, where local wooden-stilted houses line the banks. Pass the domineering Wat Arun temple, reflecting the sunlight with a lustrous glow. In the evening, take an enchanting dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River. Day 4: Bangkok to Ayutthaya B/L/D This morning, visit the famous floating market of Damnoen Saduak and observe local traders paddling their fragile boats whilst preparing fragrant dishes within teetering woks. Continue west to Kanchanaburi to visit the war cemetery and nearby Thailand-Burma railway museum. Enjoy lunch at a floating restaurant near the infamous bridge over the River Kwai. Later, transfer to Ayutthaya for dinner. Day 5: Ayutthaya to Sukhothai B/L/D Start the day at Ayutthaya’s UNESCO Historical Park, once capital of the Kingdom of Siam, and a prosperous international trading port. Wander the Summer Palace, then visit the ancient Royal monastery of Wat Yai Chaimongkhol. Departing Ayutthaya, journey through rural Thailand and end your day in Sukhothai.
