Day 2: Mexico City B/D After a morning at leisure, visit the Museum of National Anthropology, the lakes and sculpture garden of Chapultepec Park and later, the National Museum of History. Day 3: Mexico City B Flanked by the twin volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, enjoy a city tour before the Teotihuacan Pyramids. Later, discover the Roman Catholic pilgrimage, then stroll through the World Peace Rose Gardens at the rear of the Basilicas. Day 4: Mexico City to Puebla B This morning, tour the colonial city of Puebla with a visit to La Talavera und Biblioteca Palafoxiana to enjoy. Day 5: Puebla to Oaxaca B Travel to Oaxaca, situated 1,500m above sea-level, surrounded by green hills and mountains and enjoy a visit of the tortilla production plant and tasting. Day 6: Oaxaca B Step back in time to the world of the Zapotec and Mixtec, exploring its magnificently situated ruins. Continue through the streets of Oaxaca, visiting the Church of Sant Domingo de Guzman. Day 7: Oaxaca to Tehuantepec B This morning, visit the beautiful 16th century Museo Cultural de Oaxaca. Continue to the tranquil community of Santa María del Tule, where you’ll visit one of the largest and oldest trees in the world. Next, visit a mezcal distillery and enjoy a tasting. Day 8: Tehuantepec to San Cristóbal de las Casas B Following breakfast, travel to Chiapa de Corzo for a cruise through the magnificent Sumidero Canyon, where waterfalls plunge from the imposing canyon walls. Continue onto to San Cristobal de las Casas. Day 9: San Cristóbal de las Casas B Start your day exploring the historic centre of San Cristobal da las Casas. Head to the Mayan Medicine Museum for a glimpse into Mayan culture. End the day visiting Chamula, follow by the Church of San Lorenzo, then visit a weaving mill to observe the process of this skilful art. Day 10: San Cristóbal de las Casas to Palenque B After breakfast, travel towards the mystical town of Palenque, where you’ll experience a cascade of turquoise water at the Roberto Barrios waterfalls. Day 11: Palenque B This morning, uncover the ruins of Palenque. Begin at the largest pyramid, then admire the Temple of Inscriptions’, the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Sun, before an afternoon at leisure. Day 12: Palenque to Campeche B Travel to Isla Aguada and embark on a cruise from Terminos Lagoon. After gliding along the Estero Sabancuy, tour Campeche’s historic centre. Day 13: Campeche to Mérida B After breakfast, start your journey to Merida, stopping at Uxmal en route. On arrival into Merida, enjoy a captivating tour of Yucatan’s cultural capital.
