DAY 4 - PREJMER & SINAIA: See the UNESCO-listed Saxon citadel of Prejmer: with walls 40ft high and 15ft thick, plus bastions and drawbridges, it’s perhaps no surprise that in 500 years it was besieged 50 times but captured only once. Travel on to the opulent neo-renaissance masterpiece of Peles Castle, then the 300-year-old Sinaia Monastery, a shelter for the needy and lookout point over the Prahova River valley.
