Carvoeiro, Algarve This pretty old fishing village, has retained its charming roots, and the sandstone cliffs provide the backdrop to Praia do Carvoeiro beach. Vilamoura, Algarve A well developed resort of hotels boasting golf courses, a marina and numerous facilities, this resort is one of the Algarve’s favourite destinations. Quarteira, Algarve The resort of Quarteira, just east of Vilamoura, has developed from a small fishing village into a fair sized holiday centre. The fishing catch is still laid out daily on the quayside of the harbour.
