5 In November 2022, our ‘Give Back Friday’ campaign generated an amazing £15,925 for the Feeding the Future school meals programme in Sri Lanka . We are now proud to announce the successful launch of this scheme and would like to say a big thank you, our loyal customers, for your support in making this possible. This programme is going to dramatically improve the lives of children in a struggling tea plantation region, which has been identified as one of the highest-risk areas for child abandonment and school dropouts due to food insecurity and malnutrition in Sri Lanka. Lynn Stanier MBE, founder of our partner charity, Their Future Today, has this to say: “There just aren’t the words to say thank you enough to Mercury Holidays for their incredible generosity in supporting our life saving Feed the Future school meals programme in Sri Lanka, which will provide a hot, nutritious school meal to 270 students in two schools for one year.
