Mauritius South Africa Add-On: Kruger National Park Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the Hippo Hollow Country Estate for dinner this evening. Day 2: Kruger National Park After breakfast at your hotel you will leave at dawn to embark on a full-day 4x4 game drive in the Kruger National Park. Stretching across a vast area of almost 19 square kilometres, Kruger boasts incredible landscapes and the greatest variety of animals including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) as well as giraffe, cheetah, hippos and many species of antelope and smaller animals. Kruger is home to over 12,000 Elephants, 27,000 African Buffalo, 1,000 Leopards and 2,000 lions stalking the plains, so you’ll find the ‘Big Five’ well represented. White Rhino sightings can be frequent however, you’ll need some patience when it comes to the illusive Black Rhino! Overall the park supports 147 free-roaming mammal species. Out of the 517 species of birds found here, 253 are resident and the park supports six diverse ecosystems. Accompanied by an experienced game ranger, you will tour the park in an open-sided vehicle offering the very best safari experience with a clear view of the game from an elevated position. You will have the opportunity to stretch and refresh at one of the rest camps at the end of the morning. Your safari concludes late afternoon when you will return to your hotel to relax and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay. Day 3: Kruger Today is at leisure to relax at your hotel or explore.
